Ernie Pyle Honor Society
The Ernie Pyle Middle School Honor Society will begin the process of seeking membership for the 2016-2017 school year in September.
We are excited to establish this organization at our school once again in order to promote enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character and to encourage citizenship in students of Ernie Pyle Middle School.
During the month of September, letters and candidate forms will be handed out to eligible candidates of 7th and 8th grade students. The qualification to receive the candidate form is to obtain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 and above. Forms will be turned in the first week in October and reviewed to decide which students would be selected for membership. Our Faculty Council is in charge of reviewing candidate forms, voting to select students for Honor Society membership.
Letters will go out the last week of October to let parents and students know that there students have been selected to be a Honor Society member. An induction ceremony for these students will be held in November.
6th grade students and new students to Ernie Pyle will qualify for Honor Society after completing the first academic semester. Forms will be given to these students in the spring.
