Services offered at the Family Center (Room D2)

  • Parent access to computers and Internet (to access Parent VUE or English Language Learning software, to pay bills, to write a resume, etc.)
  • Community gathering place with a kitchen area
  • Reading materials for parents
  • Bank of donations to give to students:
    • Clothing that adheres to the dress code
    • Personal hygiene products
    • School supplies
    • (Food items sometimes)
  • Information about free and low-cost food resources
  • Voucher applications for clothing and shoes
  • Help with finding community resources (affordable healthcare options, services for homeless families, etc.)
  • Translation/interpretation from Spanish to English (and English to Spanish)
  • Informal Parent Q&A (to talk about grades, etc.)

Free Meals for Children at Presbyterian Hospital

Any children ages 3-18 can receive a free healthy meal at Presbyterian Hospital's cafeteria between 1pm-7pm, seven days a week. No identification or voucher is necessary to receive a meal. The meal must be eaten at the hospital.

 

Westside Community Center (on Isleta Blvd SW)

Less than a mile from Ernie Pyle, the Westside Community Center offers:

GED Classes - Monday through Thursday

Business Classes in Spanish on Thursdays

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Groups - Third Monday of each month 6pm-7:30pm

2017 ABQ Emergency Winter Shelter Information

The shelter will open Nov. 15, 2017, and run through March 15, 2018.

Winter shelter provides emergency shelter services to homeless individuals and families during the winter months.

 

The Emergency Winter Shelter provides overnight shelter accommodation and outreach services to those that want to engage in supportive services and housing.

 

The shelter accepts single men and women, families, and families with children younger than 18.

Noon Day- Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
